Assistance

Individual Emergency Assistance Program
The Emergency Assistance Program directed by the Oklahoma AIDS Care Fund has been in operation since 1992. It seeks to ensure that local HIV/AIDS service and prevention programs have the resources needed to effectively serve their clients. This program is a safety net to provide emergency financial assistance for the most basic daily living and medical necessities.
Funds from the program are used to help prevent homelessness by aiding individuals with new rental expenses, past due rent, and/or essential utilities. In addition, funds may be used for out-of-pocket emergency medical and medication expenses and emergency food needs. These funds are accessed when clients do not qualify for State or Federal assistance, or when other funding has been exhausted.
Determination of need is made by the individual's case manager who, in turn, submits a written request for assistance. Certain criteria have to be met by the case-manager and client prior to submission.
Sources of funding come from an annual fundraiser, Red Tie Night, grants and individual donations.
From 2005-2008 Oklahoma AIDS Care Fund has provided almost $90,000.00 in emergency assistance.
Applicants must apply assistance through a case manager. If you do not have a case manager, view a list of agencies that provide HIV/AIDS case management. Click Here to go to our Service Provider section.
